Bird, a student at Tabao Witthaya School was granted his first Fund Isaan scholarship in 2011 while in his fourth year of secondary education. Like all Fund Isaan scholarship students Bird was a very bright student, as a matter of fact, he was the number one of his class.

Fund Isaan granted Fern a scholarship in 2011. Fern had just graduated from Buached Witthaya School with an extreme high score of 99%. Fern came from a poor background. Her father was a rice farmer and her mother helped him on the farm. They also grew rubber trees to make some extra money.

Fund Isaan granted An a scholarship in 2014, when she was 19 years old. An had just finished her high school at Sangkha Industrial and Community Education College with a grade of 83%. She would like to continue studying Accounting at the same college.

A Fund Isaan alumni: part eight: You

In 2008, You became one of our first scholarship students. You lived with her parents and three siblings in a small wooden house and had just started her fourth year at Prasat Witthayakarn School. The school was about 15 kilometers from her house. You’s parents were poor farmers with four children.  They could not pay for the school bus, so, You had to travel to school by an old rotten bicycle every day.

In 2011 Fund Isaan was introduced to Benz, through one of our volunteers, Griet, working at her school. Griet suggested to become her sponsor after she was informed about how bright but poor Benz was. Obviously we at Fund Isaan immediately agreed to give Benz a scholarship, especially after we got to know the details.
